Yes ... it's been awhile since I last posted - 7 months. To make up for it, I will be attempting to catch up (write the posts that I've been creating in my mind only) over the next week. 7 days.
So the honest truth is that I am not a math guru, nor do I feel like I'm a "mathy" person. However I do think in numbers fairly often and I get really excited about the patterns that can be found in math. So as these past 5 months have been passing by, here are a few of the numbers that have stuck with me:
308 - I have a new instructional space! I am now located in the Treehouse in the little office/room #308
.9 - This year I have 2 positions. I am the Math Specialist at the school as well a one of our Resource Room teachers.
20 - It's been at least 20 years since I have taught in the Special Education setting.
6 - It's my 6th year at QAE.
16 - My oldest is 16 years old and is learning how to drive ... enough said.
102 and 4 - My grandmother passed away in November at the age of 102. The remarkable thing about that is that she
was only 4 pounds when she was born and the Dr. did not expect her to live for very long. I think these are
my two favorite numbers so far this year.
While I love having the number 308 in my life .... 102 and 4 are much more inspirational. There may be times, in math or not in math, where we feel like a 4 but there is no rule that says we can't be, or at least shoot for, a 102!
So as this 1st month of 2017 wraps up, I am pushing for a 102 with my blogging habits starting in February, the 2nd month if 2017. Wish me luck!
Ms. Francisco
