I will start with a warning ... this post has A LOT of pictures! Seeing as how the last math challenge had an "arts" focus, what else could I do?
Let's start with the Math Champs for Challenge #9.
This time we had 5th grader Isa from Ms. Goldman's class
and 1st grader Will from Ms. Meck's class. Congratulations!
The classroom winners this time around were ... Ms. Meck and Ms. Goldman! Well done!
The "onlies" were Asa from Mr. Bing's class, Lucca from Mr. Liner's class, Kaia from
Ms. Cryan-Leary's class, and Simon in Ms. Brown's class. A big high-five for them!

Because I received SO many wonderful and creative entries, I felt compelled to share as many as I could with you. I wish I had a giant bulletin board to display everyone's answers, but I don't. Maybe some day!
In the meantime, I will have to share through this blog. I hope that your children find some inspiration in seeing the different ways that these tasks were solved and created.
** Please note that not every child's work is displayed below - I did have to narrow it down a bit.

The last things that I want to share, are some of the comments that the older students wrote on the Parabola challenge.
I asked them the question: What did you think of this activity?
Bella - It was fun and different and made you think.
Lily - I like it. It was entertaining and fun!!!
Eric - I think it was cool to see that you could make a curve out of straight lines.
Matteo - It was fun after I got it.
Kohana - I thought this activity was educational, but also pretty artsy, and because I like art and math it was fun to try them together.
Scout - I liked it. I started on the last one but couldn't finish. Good thing you only asked for two!
Luka - At first I thought it looks really hard but all you really have to do is follow the pattern.
Henry BK - I thought it was very fun and very unique. It was cool to learn that I could do this.
Nat - It was creative and very fun.
Jackson - It was pretty fun and interesting, but hard to understand.
Lucca - I like it. It was so cool to make curves out of straight lines.
Asa - It was a fun way of learning and a very creative way of learning math.
Isa - Fun, yet challenging. BETTER THAN ALGORITHMS!!!!! (Do this more often!!!!)
I certainly hope to Isa!
Thank you to everyone who participated and took this challenge.
Challenge #10 is up and ready to go, and also has a visual slant to it.
So have fun and "Happy Mathing"!
