Did you know that the US has a National Pi Day? In 2009 the House of Representatives declared March 14 (3.14) to be National Pi Day. This year the day is not only special, it is EPIC! The date is 3/14/15 (3.1415) ... and ... at 9:26 AM the numbers continue ... well 9:26:53 to be exact. These are the first ten numbers of Pi - 3.141592653.
Now I have to be honest with you, I am not an expert in Pi. However I do think that National Pi Day is a fun way to get kids, and families, excited about math. Because this year the day falls on a weekend, I wanted to provide you with a few links to different websites where you can learn more about Pi, as well as find some really cool activities to try. And honestly, you can do this on ANY day - it doesn't have to be just on Pi Day!

I will leave you with a poem written in Pi -
Now I spin.
I dance carefully by rhythm, music, and beats.
(That's as far as I can get - You try it and be sure to share if you do!)
